It is known that the lips together with the eyes are the two areas highlighted as the most beautiful regions of a woman’s or a man’s face.
Age, smoking and hereditary factors can all contribute to loss of lip volume, shape and prominence. Genetically thin lips, drooping corners of the mouth and cosmetic asymmetries of the lips are also issues that can be dealt with by using fillers.
Most cases where lip fillers have gone badly wrong in the past, permanent collagen injections were used, these are very rarely seen today. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) fillers used now are a synthetic version of what already is present in our skin and they are temporary lasting roughly 9-12 months.
There are many fillers tailored specifically for the lips. Products can be chosen depending on the desired outcome to achieve a subtle or fuller lip. Some of the products I use are Restylane Kysse, Teosyal RHA range, Belotero and Juvederm.
Everyone is unique and has different expectations and aesthetic needs. It is therefore important that we carry out a face-to-face consultation to achieve the correct results for you.
We will have a chat about your expectations and medical history, and your face will be carefully assessed for what can be achieved and the likely outcome.
We can then select the correct products and answer any questions you may have.
All consultations are complimentary and there to provide you with all the information you need to make an informed decision. Cost will also be discussed and if you wish treatment can be carried out during that appointment. There is no obligation for you to go ahead with treatment if you decide it’s not the right choice for you.

The dermal filler is gently injected into the skin using a micro-fine needle or cannula (blunt tube).
It is common for the lips to swell slightly during and after the procedure This usually lasts for a couple of days but can last for up to 1 week. This will be discussed during your consultation and advice given. You can expect some slight redness and tenderness of the area.
The effects of fillers can be seen immediately and usually last around 9-12 months.
Full after care advice specific to you will be given at the end of your appointment. We advise not to exercise or drink alcohol for 24hours after your treatment and to avoid sun beds or any facial treatments for 1 week.
General risks of dermal fillers include:
